From Passion to Purpose, My Journey in Breeding Dogs and Empowering Others..
What is the true purpose in life? I genuinely believe it is to help others achieve happiness and success in their own unique ways. If I can facilitate that, then I am fulfilling my purpose. What value is there in highlighting my own successes if they are not used to share knowledge and assist others? This belief has been instilled in me since childhood by my greatest mentor, my mother. She was constantly surrounded by friends and neighbors seeking her advice and support, and she was always present and proactive. We learn by observing our role models' actions, not just by listening to their words.
Sadly, life took my mother when I was barely 13 years old. In response, I found solace in the world of horses and dogs, creating a protective bubble around myself. I erected a strong iron curtain, not letting anyone in, even though I didn't fully realize I was doing it. In hindsight, I see that the people around me during my teenage years meant no harm; they wanted to embrace me and offer support. But at that time, I couldn't see it that way, and my defensive attitude persisted for many years.
Despite this, I survived as a warrior, driven to prove myself and show what I was capable of. I lived a life of continuous competition. Little did I know that the success I achieved in everything I undertook would become the best tools I had to help others. At 16, although I didn’t realize it at the time, many parents entrusted their children to my care. This led to a lifetime of incredible adventures and teachings for those kids. I loved showing them their potential and providing them with the tools to succeed. It was then that I understood my life's purpose.
In everything I did and every success I achieved, I found tools to help others succeed. Summers spent with kids at my house riding horses, caring for dogs, and sharing moments on the racetrack training, with polo horses, jumpers, barrel racers, and in dog obedience. The most meaningful time was my role with the Mounted Police, as a trainer and advisor responsible for over 200 horses and 800 officers for 22 years.!
Whatever I did, whatever I achieved, was to perpetuate the gift I was given by the Universe so I could help others. Now, in the present, I see this clearly in my current program: breeding dogs with a purpose and a commitment to life. We prioritize people's needs and emotions and align our breeding program to meet those needs. We strive to breed for a purpose and are always eager to help and educate, even though we cannot always control the decisions owners make regarding their dogs.
After 48 years of working with dogs, trainers, judges, owners, and clients, we have amassed a wealth of experience. It truly pains us when we see an owner fail their dog due to a lack of correct information and training techniques. I know 100% that these situations could have had successful outcomes, but we cannot control everyone's decisions about their dogs. This is frustrating because I know it could have gone a very different way.
At the end of the day, we do what we can. We offer advice, guidance, and alternatives. Some people take it, and others don't. I don't claim to be the most knowledgeable person in this field—there are many out there with immense experience and highlighted success who have proven their capacity to create the greatest dog training achievements. Those are the experts I hope my clients will follow.
